Marty Allain, JD

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Marty Allain is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of REAL Solutions Group, with over 25 years of experience helping clients and organizations navigate and succeed in complex regulatory and compliance environments. He began his legal career by helping small and mid-size businesses navigate regulatory matters, and continued to work at various levels of regulation in Indiana. He is a subject matter expert in board of pharmacy regulations, pharmacy and drug supply chain licensing, and digital health credentialing for online pharmacy practice and telemedicine.

Marty served as the Executive Director of the Indiana Board of Pharmacy, where he helped implement one of the country’s first, state-based VAWD licensure requirements and managed the promulgation of an automated pharmacy rule, which paved the way for Medco Health Solutions to build the world’s largest pharmacy in Central Indiana. He also served as Director of Indiana’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP).

Marty was General Counsel and Legislative Director for the state’s professional licensing agency where he worked with stakeholders and legislators on several successful legislative efforts including bills that led to permanent, state-based funding for Indiana’s PDMP through provider CSR registration fees, the creation of cease and desist powers for regulatory boards, and a first-of-its-kind drug take back statute permitting pharmacies to operate self-sustaining, private, voluntary take back programs for unwanted medications without law enforcement involvement.

Marty joined the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) in 2013 working to integrate PDMP data into healthcare EHRs and pharmacy management systems through the NarxCare tool. As an NABP Senior Manager, he helped consolidate NABP's suite of Digital Health services while starting the .Pharmacy Verified Websites Program.
