Dennis A. Wichern is a retired DEA Agent with 30 years of public service, last serving as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Chicago Field Division and its 540 employees. SAC Wichern now focuses his efforts on DEA pharmacy compliance and risk mitigation services, SAMHSA MAT and OTP’s regulations, and all matters relating to prescription drugs.
SAC Wichern has taught at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA; University of California, Los Angeles, CA; Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, IL; the Illinois State Medical Society; Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN; the American Bar Association Health Law Section; the American Health Lawyers Association; Indiana University McKinney Law School, Southern Illinois Law School, the Health Care Compliance Association, the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, the DEA Training Center in Quantico, VA; the American Society of Pharmacy Law and multiple hospital and pharmacy organizations.
